While some remain detached from genuinely feeling the struggle of those people caught in the flooding and winds that are covering the Carolinas with the arrival of Hurricane Florence, these photos are sure to open up the heart of anybody.

During the hurricane, these photos were taken, and they illustrate a cooperative, helpful active culture of people in the Carolinas who have no problem helping each other out in a time of need.

Here are 21 photos of the recent destruction unleashed upon the region. All we can ask is that everybody hope for the safety and well-being of the Carolina residents, and please share something that is positive for the victims of this disaster with as many people as possible.

1. ON SEPTEMBER 14, IN NEW BERN, NORTH CAROLINA NEIGHBORHOODS ARE FLOODED AFTER THE NEUSE RIVER WAS FLOODED BY HURRICANE FLORENCE.

2. FROM ALL OVER NORTH CAROLINA, VOLUNTEERS HELP RESCUE RESIDENTS FROM FLOODED HOMES DURING THE HURRICANE IN NEW BERN, NORTH CAROLINA.

3. NEW BERN CONTINUES TO SEE FLOODING.

4. THESE VEHICLES ARE HALFWAY SUBMERGED DURING THE FLOODING IN NEW BERN, NC.

5. RESIDENTS AND PETS ARE RESCUED FROM THEIR HOMES IN NEW BERN, WITH EVERYBODY WORKING TOGETHER, NOT TOO UNFAMILIAR WITH WORKING WITH THEIR HANDS.

6. IN THE WELL KNOWN SPOT OF MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA WAVES WERE PHOTOGRAPHED CRASHING INTO THE SECOND AVENUE PIER AS HURRICANE FLORENCE STRIKES.

7. IN THIS PHOTO, A NEW BERN MAN HELPING PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR HOMES IS SEEING SAVING THE LIFE OF A HOUSEHOLD DOG.

8. THE BOONE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE IS CHECKING FOR OCCUPANTS IN A FLOODWATER-SURROUNDED HOME AFTER THE PASSING OF THE HURRICANE IN BOLIVIA, NORTH CAROLINA.

9. TWO PEOPLE SADLY LOST THEIR LIVES AFTER THIS TREE FELL ON A HOUSE DURING THE HAVOC CAUSED BY THE HURRICANE IN WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA. A MOTHER AND HER INFANT LOST THEIR LIVES.

10. JACOB FERNANDEZ CAN AT LEAST PLAY ON THIS TREE THAT FELL NEAR HIS HOME IN BOLIVIA, NORTH CAROLINA.

11. THIS MINI VAN WAS ABANDONED ON A THOROUGHLY FLOODED ROAD NEAR NEW BERN, NORTH CAROLINA.

12. A FALLEN TREE IS SUSPENDED BY DESTROYED POWER LINES HERE IN NEW BERN, AS A NORTH CAROLINA NATIONAL GUARD TRUCK DRIVES UNDERNEATH.

13. A FIRE TRUCK WAS PHOTOGRAPHED DRIVING PAST A LARGE TREE THAT WAS KNOCKED DOWN BY THE HURRICANE IN WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA.

14. IN MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA WAVES WERE PHOTOGRAPHED SMASHING INTO THE SECOND AVENUE PIER.

15. A SECOND AVENUE PIER SIGN WAS SEEN WITH SIGNS OF DISTRESS AS THE HURRICANE HIT MYRTLE BEACH.

16. A MOTHER AND HER CHILD WATCH THE RISING FLOOD WATERS CREEPING UP ON THE CAPE FEAR RIVER DURING THE LANDFALL OF THE HURRICANE.

17. IN FAIRFIELD HARBOUR, NC, ASHEVILLE MEMBERS OF THE NORTH CAROLINA NATIONAL GUARD, 105TH MILITARY POLICE BATTALION HELP EVACUEES.

18. ON THE CAPE FEAR RIVER, A MAN WALKS THROUGH THE RISING FLOOD WATERS IN WILMINGTON, NC.

19. A GAS STATION ROOF IS VISIBLY DESTROYED FROM THE STRONG WINDS IN WILMINGTON, NC.

20. IN NEW BERN, A NC DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TRUCK IS SEEN COVERED BY FLOOD WATERS COMING FROM THE NEARBY NEUSE RIVER.

21. FROM THE TRENT RIVER, FLOOD WATERS WERE PHOTOGRAPHED COVERING A PARK HERE IN POLLOCKSVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA.
