Restaurant Worker Arrested After Video Emerges Of Him Spitting On Customers’ Pizza

At the Comerica baseball park, where the Detroit Tigers play, a restaurant worker was caught on camera spitting a horrible, huge glob of spit onto a customer’s deep dish pizza.

Over the weekend, the clip went viral across social media, and the man who did it was identified as Jaylon Kerley. Not only was he fired, but he was also arrested, reportedly, although one report also says he “could” face charges. The video shows him spit into a pizza base, before putting the sauce on.

The pizza place in which the incident was captured on camera is run by Detroit Sportservice, and they said in a statement they were force to release: “As soon as we became aware through social media of potential food tampering Friday night, we immediately closed that food stand and disposed of all the product. Food safety is our top priority and we will take any appropriate action necessary to protect our guests.” Watch the clip here.

An employee who apparently worked with the man, Quinelle May, shared the video and said to WILX that the employee was spitting into the food of people because he was simply “having a bad day.” He added that the man is guilty of spitting on other pizzas in the past.

All kinds of things could be said about the man who shared the video. You could say he snitched, but it’s not that type of situation exactly, it’s much lighter than that. And wouldn’t you want to know if your pizza was 50% spit and 50% pizza sauce?

The person who shared the video claims that the bosses threatened him and demanded he remove the video. He tried to warn managers this was happening too but they didn’t care. “Every time I tried to talk, they told me to shut up,” May said.

Welcome to the world, May. It’s not right, but nobody cares about anything. People definitely don’t care about a damn thing at the notorious Comerica in Detroit.

When the person who took the video shared it online, he wrote: “I was sent home early today because I didn’t have on my Comerica Park shirt and they say I was at the bathroom for too long. So, they yelled at me and told me to go home. But since they made me go home early I couldn’t wait until after the game to tell them an employee was spitting in customer pizzas!

The customers don’t deserve this!! This is disgusting! And for the company to threaten me and let me go for exposing this video to the fans is also disgusting!”

Local news outlet WXYZ added that the man “could” face charges, but that sounds a little less likely when they phrase it like that. It sounds like the person who recorded it is the only person who cares. It’s a positive thing that he cares, but the only solution to this type of thing is to never trust food from Comerica.

In fact, be careful what food you trust that is prepared by other people, period. Trust is given out far too easily in general in this world, and it’s the root of so many consequences, in so many different ways, for so many different people.
